Your MCHA Health Insurance coverage is ending soon what’s your options?

By now, you know that your Minnesota Comprehensive Health Association (MCHA) coverage will end on December 31, 2014.

Now that you can’t be denied for a pre-existing health condition, you can buy a plan during open enrollment, which begins on November 15. While that seems like a while away, you will have six short weeks to find and purchase coverage for January 1, 2015.

If you are eligible for Medicare, you have a different open enrollment period, which runs from October 15-December 7.

When enrollment opens this fall, you will want to be prepared. We encourage you to start thinking now about which benefits are most important to you.

“¢ Do you have a preferred specialist you are not willing to give up?
“¢ Do you want a higher deductible and lower monthly payments? Or, a lower deductible and higher monthly payment?

When looking to replace yourMCHA Health Insurance, check to make sure that your medications are covered by each plan that you are considering. You will also want to check the plans’ provider networks to see if your doctors are included. That way, you can ensure continuation of your current care.
